Material Composition

LIÉ pieces are crafted using carefully selected natural materials. Our leather styles are made from 100% Italian cow leather and produced in Portugal at a female-owned factory, while our raffia designs are handcrafted by artisans in Madagascar using locally sourced raffia, a natural and delicate fiber.

What kind of leather are the leather goods crafted from?

Every LIÉ LEATHER piece is crafted from a 100% Italian cow leather and/or cow suede and is produced at a Leather Working Group certified tannery.

How do I avoid scratches on the surface of my leather goods?

Always remember that leather is a natural material, thus susceptible to any hard scratches and marks from spiky or sharp objects. Therefore, we suggest to Treat your leather bag gently. Avoid tossing it around or placing it on rough surfaces that could cause scratches.

How do I take care of my LIÉ LEATHER pieces?

Taking care of your leather goods is an essentiality that requires some attention and effort to ensure their longevity and maintain their appearance. By following these care tips, you can maintain the quality and appearance of your cow leather goods and enjoy them for a long time.

What is raffia, and where are LIÉ raffia pieces made?

Raffia is a natural plant-based fiber, appreciated for its lightweight feel and organic texture, making each piece unique. Every LIÉ raffia piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Madagascar using locally sourced raffia.

How do I avoid damaging my raffia bag?

Raffia is a natural material and therefore sensitive to water, excessive weight, and friction. We recommend avoiding exposure to water and humidity, overloading your bag, and contact with abrasive surfaces, as this can weaken the fibers and alter the bag’s original shape.

How do I take care of my LIÉ raffia pieces?

Taking care of your raffia goods requires gentle attention to preserve their beauty over time. Store your raffia piece in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, preferably in its dust bag. Regularly dust with a soft, dry cloth or soft-bristle brush, and gently spot-clean with mild soap if needed. With proper care, your raffia piece can be enjoyed for many years.
